- Air sampling likely as landfill fire continues. (press-citizen) -The fire at the Iowa City Landfill continues to burn through roughly 7.5 acres of land on a confined and unused portion of the landfill’s newest cell.
- Fire continues to burn at landfill. (press-citizen) -Neva Haman kept her windows shut Sunday afternoon and made sure not to leave her home, which was enveloped in a thick cloud of black smoke from the fire next door at the Iowa City landfill, still burning from the night before.
- EPA defends aerial surveillance. (omaha) -The agency's aerial surveillance program came under scrutiny last week when Nebraska's congressional delegation sent a joint letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. The elected officials asked Jackson to reply by June 10 to a list of 25 questions, including whether federal law allows such surveillance.
